Challenge

The Client, an association, managed an online resource center documentation site that had evolved over many years. This growth resulted in inconsistencies across sections, with each area having a different layout, alignment, and navigation structure. Users struggled to locate information efficiently due to these discrepancies.

Garofalo UX collaborated with the Client to reimagine the resource center, focusing on usability, consistency, and alignment with user needs. Key actions included:

  • Main Page Optimization: Designed an enhanced layout for the resource center's main page. The design prioritized content most relevant to the Client’s target audiences/personas and emphasized high-frequency tasks and information.
  • Template Standardization: Developed a set of standardized layout templates for different content types, ensuring a cohesive experience throughout the resource center.
  • Iterative Design Process: Collaborated with stakeholders through iterative wireframes to refine the structure and visual hierarchy.

Deliverables

  • User Experience (UX) Strategy: Defined a strategic approach to align the resource center's organization with user and business goals.
  • Information Architecture: Reorganized content to support intuitive navigation and efficient access to resources.
  • Interaction Design: Established clear and consistent interactive elements to guide user behavior.
  • Low-Fidelity Wireframes: Provided foundational design concepts to visualize and iterate on layout ideas.
